Trust vote will not take place: Marandi
Ranchi (PTI) As embattled Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda braces up for a trust vote, his Deputy Stephen Marandi believes it would not take place as 'nobody would like to take the blame' if President's rule is imposed in the event of an impasse.
Soren, he said, would soon meet the central UPA leadership, which would intervene to find a solution to the political imbroglio in the tribal state.
"I don't think Guruji (as Soren is addressed to) will want to take the blame ... After all we are all accountable to the people," Marandi, an independent MLA like Koda, said.
On Koda's claim of proving majority in the house despite 17 JMM MLAs withdrawing support to his government, Marandi said "We have not done any home work as yet."
Koda, who was asked to take the trust vote on or before August 25 following the withdrawal of support by JMM on August 17, met Governor Syed Sibtey Razi yesterday and told him that he was ready to show his strength in the house.
To a query as to why Soren had withdrawn support to Koda government, he said it 'could be a sort of pressure tactics'.
Asked to elaborate what he meant by it, Marandi said "It could be political pressure."
